Over the past many decades, in addition to playing a key role in Iran&#8217;s scientific and industrial developments, it has been a national reference with its new innovations in scientific activities.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"vc_col-sm-6 wpb_column vc_column_container\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section><section class=\"l-section wpb_row us_custom_a54cd189 height_auto width_full\"><div class=\"l-section-h i-cf\"><div class=\"g-cols vc_row via_flex valign_top type_default stacking_default\"><div class=\"vc_col-sm-12 wpb_column vc_column_container\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><div class=\"g-cols wpb_row us_custom_1f4b9def via_flex valign_top type_default stacking_default\"><div class=\"vc_col-sm-12 wpb_column vc_column_container\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><div class=\"wpb_text_column\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><table border=\"0\" cellspacing=\"1\" cellpadding=\"1\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The School of Chemical Engineering of Iran University of Science and Technology began its activities as Iran&#8217;s first chemical engineering school with its first graduate in 1935. Over the past many decades, in addition to playing a key role in Iran&#8217;s scientific and industrial developments it has been a national <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">reference with its new innovations in scientific activities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>It serves as a reliable center for research and education. The School admits about 60 undergraduate and 90 postgraduate students each year including approximately 87 Ph.D. students. 27 faculty members are teaching approximately 212 B.Sc., 250 M.Sc., and 87 Ph.D. students at the moment. Due to the quality of the services the school\u2019s graduates are often employed by the local industry during their education or soon after. Many of our graduates have managed significant achievements at the national and international level.<\/p>\n<p>The department is also equipped with four laboratories used as training centers for the school B.Sc. students. The educational and research activities of the school within the past four years can be summarized as follows.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 &#8211; Winning over 60 research contracts form the local industry.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 &#8211; Publication of over 250 journal papers in highly accredited science and engineering journals at national and international levels.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 &#8211; Presentation of over 600 papers in national and international scientific conferences.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 &#8211; Publication of 4 titles of books in the field of chemical engineering.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 &#8211; Winner of two best national researcher awards by faculty members:<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 &#8211; Winner of a third place of Khwarizmi Festival Award by a faculty member<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 &#8211; Registration of over 30 patents at national and international levels.<br clear=\"all\" \/>The school is organized in three departments of Petroleum Processing, Mineral Processing and Petrochemical Processing.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Research Focus:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Membrane Separation Processes<\/li>\n<li>Thermodynamics<\/li>\n<li>Catalysis and Reaction Engineering<\/li>\n<li>Simulation of Chemical Engineering Processes<\/li>\n<li>Biotechnology<\/li>\n<li>Cement Process and Material Technologies<\/li>\n<li>Computer aided Process Engineering<\/li>\n<li>Computational Fluid Dynamics<\/li>\n<li>Ceramic Process Technologies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0<strong>Educational laboratories:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Heat Transfer Lab.<\/li>\n<li>Fluid Mechanics Lab.<\/li>\n<li>Process Control Lab.<\/li>\n<li>Unit Operation Lab.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"left\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">At present, the school has\u00a026\u00a0\u00a0academic members of staff in the following 6 fields:<\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0Process Modeling, Simulation &amp; Control<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0Reaction Engineering<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0Separation processes<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0Mineral Processing<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0Thermodynamics<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0Biotechnology<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Relying on its 15 research laboratories, the school participates in educational and research activities. The school is one of the premiers of Iran, regarding global education and research standards. The school publishes many papers in many prominent piers reviewed journals and presents tens of papers at international conferences. In addition, nearly 212 BSc, 250 MSc., and 87 Ph.D. students are active in this school to gain knowledge and experience, annually.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The School of Chemical Engineering Vision Statement<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The School of Chemical Engineering at Iran University of Science and Technology will be one of the leading Schools in chemical engineering and the related fields nationwide and in the Middle East for graduate and undergraduate students and faculty who value excellence in teaching, learning, research, creation of new knowledge, creative activity, and technology and industrial cooperation as well as service to one&#8217;s community.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The School of Chemical Engineering Mission Statement<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The school prepares undergraduate chemical engineers with a strong fundamental scientific and technical knowledge base and critical thinking skills who are acquainted with all related fields of chemical engineering and are life-long learners well able to design, analyze and serve industrial demands in chemical engineering systems and processes.
